In the year 1843, Madras Presidency was set up. The administration of Sri Venkateshwara Mandir and a number of holy places was handed over to Seva Dossji of the Hathiramji Mutt at the Trumala for a century until the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was set up as per TTD Act. 1932. After the Independence Andhra state was formed on the linguistic basis. TTD is controlled by a Board of Trustees which has enlarged in size from 5 to 15 through the approval of Acts. The everyday work and management of TTD is the liability of an executive officer who is selected by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
The Tirupati Temple attracts around 70,000 to 80,000 worshipers every day. The yearly budget estimated in the year 2008 is Rs. 10 Billion. This fund derives from various trusts and the donations of the devotees.
